Reid Calvert is a Los Angeles–based photographer and visual artist whose work moves fluidly between commercial, editorial, and personal documentary practices. Originally from Austin, Texas, Calvert graduated from Central Saint Martins in London with a degree in Fashion Communication and Promotion in 2018.
His artistic practice explores themes of recreation, gathering, and celebration, with a focus on the relationships that emerge through these collective actions. Through this lens, his work engages with historical processes, particularly how the past is commemorated and remembered.
His work has been exhibited at SADE Gallery (solo show Fish, 2021), Giovanni’s Room Gallery, and featured in publications such as Love Magazine, Submission Beauty, The Face, Cero Magazine, and DAZED. In 2023, he was commissioned to create the visual campaign for WET’s album Double alongside creative director and LA-based filmmaker Alex Thurmond.
Calvert has worked extensively with Parkwood Entertainment and Beyoncé as a freelance photographer, contributing to high-profile campaigns including Beyoncé for Tiffany & Co. and the Adidas x Ivy Park Park Trail campaign in Dubai.
He is currently working on a visual documentary project capturing skijoring races in rural communities across the Northwestern United States. Directed by London-based filmmaker and designer Randa Kherba, the project explores how tradition, sport, and survival intersect in extreme winter environments, where communities navigate shifting climates and extreme conditions to keep their rodeo spirit alive.
Calvert is also preparing to release a collaborative photo book with New York–based illustrator Drake Carr, slated for publication in fall 2025.
